My first time out, the wheel fell off. I scoured the lawn until I found the stupid plastic cap that popped off the axle. It must have arrived very loose. I pressed it back on, hard, and so far it has stayed on place. Other than that, this works OK - fine for the price, which is the cheapest I could find online. It does not scatter well in all directions, like my previous Scotts one - it's mostly forward and to the right, not so much to the left - so I've had to adjust my pattern accordingly. But when you shut it off to make a turn, it's off, unlike the Scotts spreader which would never close the chute. I don't think any of these are perfect (at least in this price range), but for $29, this Earthway is pretty good. Just push in the axle caps!
